The health benefits from the contributions of many partners. In addition to the traditional international partners such as WHO, UNFPA, UNICEF, the World Bank and the Belgian Development Agency (BTC), it receives funding from the Global Fund, the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunizations - GAVI), the American Presidential Malaria Initiative (PMI) and the African Development Bank.
Donors include multilateral and bilateral United States, European Union, Switzerland, Belgium, China, Japan, Canada, France and Germany. The World Bank and the European Union also provide budgetary support.
The donor community and the Government of Benin established a coordination mechanism. This includes a group for the health sector, chaired by the Minister of Health. Many mechanisms have been put in place to ensure the involvement of civil society and the community in the management of the health system.
